Mood & Sleep

DSIP was isolated in 1977 from the cerebral venous blood of rabbits in slow-wave sleep and named for that effect. Its receptor has still not been identified, so research measures downstream observations rather than receptor occupancy. Selank reaches the category from defined pharmacology instead, through GABAergic signalling.
