Description
DSIP is the nonapeptide Trp-Ala-Gly-Gly-Asp-Ala-Ser-Gly-Glu, and it has one of the more unusual origin stories in peptide research.
In 1977 the Schoenenberger and Monnier group in Basel induced a slow-wave EEG state in rabbits using low-frequency electrical stimulation of thalamic structures. They then collected cerebral venous blood from those animals, dialysed it, and purified a peptide fraction from the dialysate. Administered to recipient rabbits, that fraction was reported to reproduce the same EEG pattern. The peptide was named for the effect that led to its isolation: delta sleep-inducing peptide.
Nearly five decades later, the primary receptor for DSIP has still not been identified. The gap limits what research with this compound can conclude. Studies measure downstream observations rather than receptor occupancy, and mechanism remains open.
Published work covers EEG architecture and slow-wave activity, corticotropin and somatotropin release, stress-response models, and thermoregulation. Findings across the literature are mixed, which is consistent with a compound whose target is unknown.
Epithalon is the other compound here with a circadian connection, though it reaches the question from the pineal side rather than from EEG.

Frequently asked questions
What is DSIP?
DSIP is a naturally occurring nine-amino-acid peptide. Researchers originally identified it through its link to delta-wave sleep activity, and neuropeptide research now studies it more broadly.
What is DSIP studied for?
Researchers examine its interactions with neuroendocrine and stress-response pathways. These are laboratory findings only.
Is DSIP lab-tested?
A U.S. laboratory verifies every batch for purity, identity, and peptide content using HPLC and LC-MS analysis. We deliver securely across Bali and accept all major payment methods.
How do I store DSIP?
Reconstitute the lyophilised powder with bacteriostatic water, store it refrigerated at 2–8°C, and use it within about four weeks. Keep unmixed vials cool and out of direct light.
