Description
Thymosin alpha-1 is a 28-residue peptide with an acetylated N-terminus. Goldstein and colleagues purified it from thymosin fraction 5 of calf thymus and determined the full sequence in 1977. In the cell it comes from a larger precursor, prothymosin alpha, and is the fragment carrying the activity attributed to the thymus in T-cell education.
The mechanism runs through pattern recognition rather than a dedicated receptor. Thymosin alpha-1 signals via TLR2 and TLR9 on dendritic cells, which drives their maturation and antigen presentation, and from there T-cell maturation and a Th1-skewed response. What makes the pharmacology more interesting than a simple stimulant picture is the second arm: an IDO-dependent pathway that generates regulatory T cells in parallel. Published measurements include interleukin-2 modulation, interferon-gamma production, NK cell activity and thymopoiesis.
One regulatory point needs precision. The same peptide is approved as thymalfasin, sold as Zadaxin, in more than 35 countries for chronic hepatitis B. That approval covers a manufactured pharmaceutical product with its own quality dossier. It does not extend to this material, which we supply as a research compound and nothing else.
KPV is the other immune-adjacent peptide here, and it reaches inflammation from the melanocortin side rather than through Toll-like receptors.
Supplied as a lyophilised powder at ≥99% purity by HPLC, with batch LC-MS identity confirmation and a certificate of analysis. Reconstitute with bacteriostatic water. Store the sealed vial at -20°C and keep reconstituted solution at 2-8°C, protected from light.
For in-vitro laboratory research only. Not for human or veterinary use.

Frequently asked questions
What is Thymosin Alpha-1?
Thymosin Alpha-1 is a 28-amino-acid thymic peptide. Immunologists study it as an immune modulator.
What is Thymosin Alpha-1 studied for?
Researchers examine its role in T-cell maturation and immune-signalling modulation. These are laboratory findings only.
Is Thymosin Alpha-1 lab-tested?
A U.S. laboratory verifies every batch for purity, identity, and peptide content using HPLC and LC-MS analysis. We deliver securely across Bali and accept all major payment methods.
How do I store it?
Reconstitute the lyophilised powder with bacteriostatic water, store it refrigerated at 2–8°C, and use it within about four weeks. Keep unmixed vials cool and out of direct light.
