NAD+ 500mg

NAD+ is the one item in this group that is not a peptide. Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide is a dinucleotide cofactor, molecular weight 663.43 Da, and it is supplied here at 500 mg rather than the 10 mg typical of the peptide vials. Scale your reconstitution accordingly: 500 mg in 5 ml gives 100 mg/ml, twenty times the concentration the same volume would give a 10 mg peptide vial.

Its role in the cell is to carry electrons. NAD+ accepts a hydride to become NADH and hands it back, which is what makes it central to glycolysis, the citric acid cycle and oxidative phosphorylation. Redox cycling consumes none of it.

The research interest is in the reactions that do consume it. Sirtuins, PARPs and CD38 cleave NAD+ rather than recycling it, so every deacetylation, DNA-repair event or calcium-signalling step draws down the pool. Cells refill it largely through the salvage pathway, where NAMPT is the rate-limiting enzyme. That consumption-and-salvage balance is what most NAD+ literature is actually measuring.
