Description

KPV is the smallest compound in this catalogue: three amino acids, lysine-proline-valine, molecular formula C16H30N4O4, molecular weight 342.44 Da, CAS 67727-97-3.

The sequence is not arbitrary. It reproduces residues 11 to 13, the C-terminal end, of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone. The interesting part is what it leaves behind: full-length α-MSH acts on melanocortin receptors and drives pigmentation, while the isolated KPV tripeptide does not. Researchers use it to separate the inflammatory signalling attributed to α-MSH from the pigmentary activity that comes with the whole hormone. If you are studying the pigment side instead, Melanotan-2 is the opposite selection.

Size also changes how it moves. KPV is small enough to be carried by PepT1 (SLC15A1), the di- and tripeptide transporter in intestinal epithelium, which is upregulated in inflamed intestinal tissue. That transport route is why so much of the KPV literature sits in gut-barrier and colitis models rather than in systemic work.

Published studies have measured NF-κB activation, MAP-kinase signalling, and pro-inflammatory cytokine output in intestinal and other epithelial cell lines.

Supplied as a lyophilised powder at ≥99% purity by HPLC, with batch LC-MS identity confirmation and a certificate of analysis. The tripeptide dissolves readily in bacteriostatic water. Store the sealed vial at -20°C and keep reconstituted solution at 2-8°C.

For in-vitro laboratory research only. Not for human or veterinary use.

We supply these products for in-vitro laboratory research only. They are not medicines, BPOM has not evaluated them, and no one should use them on humans or animals. Once you reconstitute a vial, keep it refrigerated at 2–8°C and use it within about four weeks. Store unmixed vials cool and out of direct light.
Order before 5 PM and we dispatch the same day across Bali, from Canggu and Seminyak to Ubud, Sanur and beyond. Every order goes out in plain, temperature-controlled packaging.

Frequently asked questions

What is KPV?

KPV is a tripeptide fragment of α-MSH. Researchers study it for anti-inflammatory signalling.

What is KPV studied for?

Researchers examine its effects on inflammatory pathways, including in gut-research models. These are laboratory findings only.

Is KPV lab-tested?

A U.S. laboratory verifies every batch for purity, identity, and peptide content using HPLC and LC-MS analysis. We deliver securely across Bali and accept all major payment methods.

How do I store it?

Reconstitute the lyophilised powder with bacteriostatic water, store it refrigerated at 2–8°C, and use it within about four weeks. Keep unmixed vials cool and out of direct light.
